Comparing the same shows with themselves, the cheapest ticket is down 3% on 30 days ago (696 shows) and flat on a week ago (1,125 shows). A median over the same events is not moved by new dates joining the market.

When is the best time to buy concert tickets?

In our research on 622 concerts followed to show day, the cheapest ticket fell a median 9% over the final two weeks: 59% got cheaper and 36% pricier. Waiting has usually paid, but not for every event.

How we measure this

The price of a show is the cheapest ticket listed for it on our partner marketplaces (HelloTickets, Ticket Squeeze, TicketNetwork) with fees included, read twice a day. It is the price to get in, not the price of a good seat.

Rankings use the median across each artist’s upcoming dates and include only artists with three or more dates on sale, so a single expensive night does not decide the order. “Popular” means the 40 artists with the most demand on the ticket platforms we track.
